Oakland business owner fatally shot

The Saturday morning killing is the 10th homicide investigated by police this year

OAKLAND — A shooting Saturday morning inside an East Oakland automotive parts store left the 68-year-old owner dead and his killer being sought, authorities said Sunday.

The name of the man killed has not yet been released.

The shooting happened about 11:49 a.m. Saturday inside Bay City Alternators, 8807 International Blvd., authorities said.

Police responding to reports of a person down inside the business found the owner shot. He was pronounced dead at the store.

Police have not yet said what they believe the motive for the shooting was. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.

The killing is the 10th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year, the same number as last year at this time.
