Dai Sugano

Dai Sugano is an Emmy Award-winning Bay Area News Group photojournalist and senior multimedia editor for The Mercury News and East Bay Times. Some of his projects include: “Drugging Our Kids,” an investigative project on the use of psychotropic drugs on California’s foster children; "Cost of Dying,” a series on end-of-life care issues in the U.S.; rising economic inequality in China; poverty in India; Hmong refugees who have immigrated to the U.S.; California’s 2003 gubernatorial recall; and “Torn Apart,” a 30-minute documentary on a Bay Area family divided by immigration rules. He is also a co-creator/co-editor of Viewfinder, the photo blog for the Bay Area News Group photojournalists. Follow Dai on Instagram.
