Battle of the Bulge 5-MILER
09-17 December 2023
Concept of Operations
On 16 DEC 1944, the Germans launched a counteroffensive in response to the Allied Forces’ successful D-Day invasion and advancement into the Ardennes Region of France. It was the last major German offensive of World War II and it lasted 5 long, very cold weeks, ending 25 JAN 1945 in the Allies’ favor. But it came at a heavy cost. The US Army reports roughly 19,000 U.S. soldiers died, 47,500 were wounded, and more than 23,000 were missing.
See a timeline of key events from the Battle of the Bulge to better understand what our soldiers were up against.

Join Team RWB Daytona for the Battle of the Bulge flagship event. Our goal is to get 100 Team RWB members with their red shirts on to commemorate the Battle of the Bulge. You can run/walk the 5 miles as an individual or grab 2, 3, 4 or more friends to run/walk it as a team by splitting up the 5 miles. Afterwards, join us and other Veteran Service Organizations from the Volusia/Flagler County areas for this morning around food, beverages and fellowship.
