About

This is a brand-new style of Expedition and one in which we are piloting a new initiative around building mental toughness, grit, and resilience.

There will be daily group activities coupled with discussions, periods of reflection, and brief seminars on resilience. Participants will spend most of their time outdoors.

Since this is a new format for Eagle Expeditions, we will ask for feedback from participants through surveys, questionnaires, and small group discussions to help improve this program for 2024.

Why Attend?

Eagles should attend this Expedition to challenge themselves with new activities in a beautiful yet harsh environment without the overt risk of overnight exposure. Those who love winter or would like to love winter should certainly apply. This type of experience will provide ample opportunities for solitude while the forest is muted in snow. The activities Eagles will be exposed to are less prohibitive than previous Expeditions and will offer the comforts of staying at a lodge with a cafeteria.

This Expedition will serve as a sample to the new brand of Expeditions that are coming in 2024 and beyond with the focus on building resilience through the trying adventures had on Expeditions. The challenge and camaraderie will be ever-present but woven into each experience will be opportunities for participants to build valuable skills in resiliency to build grit and toughness against all challenges, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Eagles who are interested in building resilience, learning about resilience, and exploring their own resiliency in a testing environment should apply to this Expedition.

“I met a great group of Eagles and felt an instant, natural connection with fellow veterans who enjoyed the outdoors, enjoyed the challenging physical activity, and enjoying sharing laughs and struggles together.

For any Eagle out there, new or having been around for a number of years, I encourage you to reach outside your comfort zone and sign up for an expedition that interests you!”
